Welcome aboard to another Midweek Preview and after three consecutive meeting abandonments, we try our luck again with Wincanton on Thursday where we have three selections. As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are having a bet.
12.55: Merry Wincanton Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle: My first selection of the afternoon comes in the 12.55 which is a novice hurdle over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I’m siding with Queen Annie who’s currently a 3/1 chance for Harry Fry and Jonny Burke. She made an encouraging start to life over hurdles when third at Exeter last month, she finished behind a couple of progressive rivals that day and now she’s upped in trip I think we could see significant progression. 2.05: Danny McNab Bookmakers “National Hunt” Novices’ Handicap Hurdle: Next up for me is the 2.05 which is a novices handicap hurdle over three miles and half of a furlong. I think that Stratton Oakmont is the solid one here for Kayley Woollacott and Ben Godfrey who takes off three pounds. He’s a horse who’s progressed with both starts under rules and won well last time out at Southwell last month, he escapes a penalty for that success and another bold showing could well be on the cards. 3.15: Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Silver Buck Handicap Chase: The third and final selection comes in the 3.15 which is a handicap chase over three miles and a furlong. I’m siding with Take Your Time here for the team of Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. He made the perfect start to life over fences at Newton Abbott back in October following a change of headgear, and the three pounds rise in the weights that he received as a result of that success might not be enough to stop him.
