Welcome aboard to this Midweek Preview where I’m focusing on Plumpton as I have three selections throughout the afternoon there. As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are punting.
12.45: Weatherbys & Birdie Calendars Maiden Hurdle: My first selection of the afternoon comes in the 12.45 which is a maiden hurdle that’s ridden over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I’m siding with Hurricane Danny here for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden, he progressed from his first start over hurdles last time out at Chepstow to finish second, and if he builds on that again here he should go close. Hurricane Danny – 2/1 (Win)
1.15: BetGoodwin Supports UK Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase: Next up it’s the 1.15 which is a handicap chase for novices over two miles and three and a half furlongs. I think that this can go to Scene One for Lucy Wadham and Tom Cannon. He won impressively on chasing debut last month at Fakenham, and I believe he could well have more to offer off his revised mark. Scene One – 4/1 (Win)
1.45: Theo’s Charm Memorial Novices’ Hurdle: My third and final pick of the afternoon comes in the 1.45 which is a novice hurdle over two miles. I think that this can go to Goodwin for Chris Goodwin and Rex Dingle. He looked a potentially useful prospect when bolting up in a Fontwell bumper last year, and he made a solid start over hurdles when finishing second at Plumpton last month. It would be disappointing should he not build on that run and go close here. Goodwin – 9/4 (Win)
