Welcome aboard to this Monday Midweek Preview where I’ve got four picks from both Warwick and Plumpton. Remember to gamble responsibly if you are punting.
1.05 Warwick: Hazelton Mountford Insurance Brokers Juvenile Hurdle: My first pick of the day comes from Warwick at 1.05 in a juvenile hurdle over two miles. I’m siding with Orchestra here who should be tough to beat for Fergal O’Brien and Paddy Brennan. He finished second on his hurdling debut and should naturally progress from that run here. The seven-pound pull he gets from previous winner and rival Givemefive could prove key also. Orchestra – 9/4F (Win)
1.15 Plumpton: 2023 RCA Groundstaff Champions Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle: We go to Plumpton for my second pick of the day which is a mares novice hurdle that’s ridden over two miles. I think that this can go to Villainess for Harry Bannister and Richard Bandey. She posted a very encouraging effort on her hurdling debut when finishing second to a well-fancied rival, and if she progresses from that effort she should be giving a very good count of herself. Villainess – 7/4F (Win)
2.15 Plumpton: Thank You To All Raceday Staff Novices’ Hurdle: Next up for me is the 2.15 at Plumpton which is another novice hurdle, this time over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I like Bob Bob Ricard here for Jonjo O’Neil and Richie McLernon. He finished second on his hurdling debut before finishing fifth in a competitive maiden at Ascot on his most recent outing. That experience should hold him in good stead here in slightly calmer waters, and it would be disappointing should he not go well. Bob Bob Ricard – 4/1 (Win)
3.05 Warwick: Watch RacingTV For Free For 31 Days Handicap Hurdle: My fourth and final selection comes from Warwick and their 3.05 which is a handicap hurdle that’s contested over three miles and a furlong. I’ve sided with Seefin here who can go well for the team of Dan & Harry Skelton. He’d been progressing nicely in handicaps, with form figures of 112 in his first three runs within these ranks. He’s been given a slight break since his last run at Ascot in November, seemingly waiting for better ground and he’ll get that here. He also still remains on a competitive mark. Seefin – 3/1F (Win)
