Welcome aboard to my preview for the November Meeting which is set to take place at Cheltenham on Friday and runs through until Sunday. I’ll have a preview for each day of the meeting sharing my thoughts and opinions on the action, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are punting on any of my selections.

.45: Mucking Brilliant Paddy Power Handicap Chase: I’m starting things off with the 1:45 which is a handicap chase that’s contested over a distance of two miles. I like the chances of Triple Trade here who’s currently trading at a best price of 9/2 for Joe Tizzard and Brendan Powell. He ran a fine race here last month on his seasonal reappearance when finishing second of eleven in another competitive handicap and has only been nudged up a pound for that run. If building on that effort he’s got every chance to go close again. Triple Trade – 9/2 (Win)

.20: Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices’ Chase: We move into graded company at 2:20 with a Grade 2 novices chase over two miles which is seen as an Arkle trial. I’ve gone for Mighty Tom here who’s an Irish raider for the combination of Cian Collins and Danny Gilligan. He’s a listed winner over hurdles and posting a solid effort on his chasing debut when second behind the useful Letsbeclearaboutit in a Grade 3 at Cork earlier in the month, which he’ll likely build on. If the ratings are to be believed here, he’s currently rated nine pounds higher than the current favourite JPR One and will run off level weights. Mighty Tom – 11/4 (Win)

.30: Trustatrader Novices’ Hurdle: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3:30 which is a Grade 2 novices hurdle that’s set to be ridden over two miles and five furlongs. I think that this particular affair is all about Captain Teague who currently heads the betting for the team of Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. He’s a very exciting prospect and is progressing very nicely for his top connections, he signed off last season when finishing third in the Champion Bumper here in March, and made no mistake on his hurdling debut when bolting up in the Persian War at Chepstow last month. If he continues his current rate of progression he should prove very tough to beat here. Captain Teague – 4/6 (Win)

.05: Valda Energy Novices’ Handicap Hurdle: Concluding the day’s action will be the 4:05 and it’s a handicap hurdle that is ridden over two miles and half of a furlong. I’ve sided with Impose Toi here who’s currently a best price of 11/4 for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. Sporting the green and yellow silks of JP McManus he’s looked a potentially exciting prospect for Seven Barrows so far, winning by considerable distances on two of his last starts at the end of last term. This is a different test for him now in handicap company, but I think he has the scope to be quite a bit better than his current rating of 121, and if that’s the case he could take some stopping here. Impose Toi – 11/4 (Win)
