Monday 3rd August 2026
I’ve got just the one bet this Monday, and it comes from Nottingham in the 4.10, a Class 6 handicap over five furlongs. I’ve come down on the Adrian Nicholls-trained HURT YOU NEVER here, who’s the mount of three-pound claimer Jack Nicholls. She’s struggled to find consistency as of late; as a result, she has dropped to a mark that is now fifteen pounds below her last winning one. She’s also a course and distance winner who won four small-field affairs over today’s distance last year, and she races here with blinkers added for the first time, which could well help her return to form. It would be disappointing if she can’t make her presence felt at this level and off her current mark.
Shortlist: Invincible Crown is often consistent for Ruth Carr and was a winner at Musselburgh on his penultimate start, and is likely to be on the premises here under Tom Eaves now he drops back into a 0-60 contest. He has to be considered as a very live player.
Selection: Hurt You Never – (5/2) (Win) (NAP) – (4.10 Nottingham)
1,2: Hurt You Never (5/2), Invincible Crown (2/1) – (4.10 Nottingham)
