Ffos Las Tuesday Blog

Tuesday Blog. (23/06/26)

Tuesday 23rd June 2026

I’m taking a look at the opener from Ffos Las on Tuesday, and this is the 2.30, which is a Class 5 handicap that’s set to be contested over a distance of five furlongs. The Owen Burrows-trained Lohoobb is at the top of the shortlist here, who’s the mount of Callum Rodriguez. He’s still a maiden after six outings; however, he’s gone close in several of those efforts. Most recently, he finished fifth over seven furlongs at Sandown when fading in the closing stages, suggesting that this drop down to six furlongs could be what he’s after. He’s also a lot less exposed than some of his rivals here, and you’d like to think that we haven’t seen the best of him yet. The ground is a slight concern with there being soft in the going; however, the warm weather should dry it out relatively quickly. I think that he’s got every chance of opening his account here.

On Edge has to enter calculations for Christoper Mason and Billy Loughnane on the back of his success at Chepstow on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow last month. He’s only a couple of pounds higher for this particular assignment, and if he’s in the same form, he should be bang on the premises. Making up the shortlist is Grey Horizon for Scott Dixon, who’s the mount of Christian Howarth, taking off three pounds. He won at Brighton on his penultimate start, and then followed up that success with an excellent third-placed effort at Windsor last time out, just three-quarters of a length behind the winner. He remains on the same mark here and has to be considered a player.
