French recruit who ran a very solid race on Irish debut for Willie Mullins last time out, when second of seventeen behind a likely useful and more experienced type in Starting Fifteen. He should take a big step forward here, with the yard in better form also.
4.22 Chepstow
BIG JOHN OLLIE – 9/4 (Win)
Dan Skelton-trained five-year-old who posted an encouraing effort on rules debut at Ffos Las back in October, finishing a keeping-on third of nine. Should build on that run here, and there could be a significant improvement coming into his second start. Harry Atkins also takes off seven pounds.
4.28 Wolverhampton
HOMME DE FER – 3/1 (Win)
Solid performer for Tony Carroll, winning two of his last four outings, including one over course and distance, and went close at Kempton last time out when finishing a neck third of eleven. He contests this off the same mark as his Kempton mark, and should be bang there again.
4.33 Limerick
GILLANE – 15/8 (Win) (NB)
Six-year-old who makes his debut for Gavin Cromwell here, and appears to have found the right time to do so, with the Cromwell yard currently coming into form. He’s got some decent form to his name over hurdles and was second to Charismatic Kid in a Navan bumper last time out, with that rival selling for £300,000 following that run.
