12.35 Haydock: Betfred Nifty 50 Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 4)
NAZARE comes into this contest in fine form, having won back-to-back handicaps at Market Rasen and Southwell. He’s kept on well in both of those contests, giving the impression that this step up in trip to three miles and half of a furlong should suit. He’s up four pounds in the weights for his latest success; however, that might not be enough to halt his current rate of progression for James Owen. (2/1) (Win)

1.05 Haydock: Betfred ‘Bet Builder’ EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle (Class 3)
CAPTAIN HUGO looked a progressive sort for Phillip Hobbs & Johnson White when getting the better of the highly thought of Sinnatra by a length and a half at Newbury back in November, and he lost nothing in defeat at Aintree, when finding Ben Pauling’s Taurus Bay too good, as that particular rival is likely smart. He should still have more to offer, and has every chance of resuming his progress here under Sean Houlihan. (5/4) (Win) (NAP)

1.35 Haydock: Betfred ‘The Classic Bookmaker’ Handicap Chase (Class 3)
NED TANNER won this race last year and comes into this year’s renewal on the back of a wind operation following a couple of lacklustre efforts at Kelso and Aintree, in what were his first two starts of this term. Notably, he’s back down to his last winning mark here, with that success coming at Ayr back in March, which certainly brings him into the equation. If he bounces back to the form of last year, he’s a solid each-way play for Nick Alexander and Sean Quinaln. (11/2) (Each-Way)

2.05 Haydock: Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Novices’ Handicap Chase (Class 4)
SKI LODGE has run well in both starts to date this term, finishing second behind the progressive Scorpio Rising over hurdles on seasonal reappearance, before filling out that same position over fences at Uttoxeter last time out when behind another likely progressive type in Itseemslikeit. He’s been dropped a pound following that run, and it’s likely he’ll be getting his head in front sooner rather than later for Alan King. (5/2) (Win) (NB)

2.35 Haydock: Betfred ‘Goals Galore’ EBF Junior ‘National Hunt’ Hurdle (Class 4)
MAJORDOMO was impressive on his rules debut at Newcastle last month, keeping on well to win a bumper by two and a quarter of a length for Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore. That run could possibly be marked up further, given that he came from an unpromising position, and he could likely be better than this level. If he converts that ability over hurdles, he can have a big say in this particular race, with Jack Power retaining the partnership. (9/4) (Win)
