Bath Selections

12.55 Bath: Bath Rugby Nursery Handicap
BETTY LEMON – 6/1 (Each-Way)
Moderate form among maiden company, however, her latest effort wasn’t devoid of hope when fourth at Brighton over a mile. There should be more improvement now handicapping.
1.25 Bath: David Cole Memorial EBF Restricted Novice Stakes
PANTILE’S GIFT – 4/1 (Win) (NAP)
Progressed with each of his three starts to date, culminating with a head second over course and distance last time out. The one to beat on that form, and should go very close.
1.55 Bath: BetWright Bet The Wright Way Handicap
PLATINUM PRINCE – 5/2 (Win)
Arrives here in form, having won on his penultimate start, and followed up with a solid second of ten, with both of those runs coming at Goodwood. He’s on the same mark here as his latest outing and is a big player once again. He’s also versatile ground wise.
2.25 Bath: BetWright Bangers N’Cash Handicap
WHITELEY WAY – 14/1 (Each-Way)
Long-standing maiden, however, has gone close in her last two outings within handicap, with the most recent effort coming over course and distance last week when finishing second on heavy ground. Contests this off the same mark, and has every chance of being involved again.
2.55 Bath: BeatWright: Beat The Wright Way Handicap
KISS AND RUN – 11/4 (Win) (NB)
Much better off at the weights with Marching Mac here than when a shoulder second to that rival last time out, and contests this off the same mark. Course and distance winner, who could well post a very bold bid here.
3.25 Bath: Lambert Smith Hampton Bath Handicap
BATED BREEZE – 5/1 (Each-Way)
Another long-standing maiden, however, has gone close on several occasions, including last time out at Brighton when a length and three-quarters third of fourteen, over seven furlongs. Significant drop in trip here; however, if he gets an easy lead, he could be tough to peg back off this mark.
3.55 Bath: Lambert Smith Hampton Bath Handicap
ROMAN SPRING – 7/2 (Win) (Treble)
Fairly consistent as of late, winning three starts ago at Brighton, and since running with credit in two outings at that same venue. Ryan Kavanagh takes off a very handy five pounds here, which effectively makes him a pound lower than that recent success. Seems to act on all surfaces also.
4.25 Bath: BetWright Safer Gambling Handicap
LAHINA BAY – 8/1 (Each-Way)
Went close here last time out when three-quarters of a length third of eight, and the handicapper has generously dropped her a further pound for her troubles. That run also came within Class 5 company, so this is an ease in grade. If she’s in the same form, she can go well off this mark.
