1.00 Warwick: Join The Warwick Racecourse Business Club Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle: My first selection of the afternoon on Wednesday comes in the 1.00 at Warwick which is a Class 4 handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys over two miles and three furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Cloud Dancer here for the team of Gary & Josh Moore who’s set to be ridden by Caoilin Quinn taking off three pounds. He made a very encouraging effort on seasonal reappearance at Fontwell back in September when he finished second of eight and he will effectively contest this off three pounds lower with Quinn’s claim. He should come on for that run here and should once again go well at this sort of level. Cloud Dancer – 9/2 (Win)
1.35 Warwick: The Denis O’Connell Memorial Novices’ Hurdle: I’m staying at Warwick for my second selection and the 1.35 which is a Class 4 novice hurdle over two miles and five furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of Barlovento here who currently heads the betting for Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen. He was a bumper winner who opened his account at the first time of asking last month at Carlisle when winning a novice hurdle by half of a length. He won going away on that occasion giving the impression that there is plenty yet to come as well as this extra furlong suiting. He’ll have to give weight away here, however, I think he’s the one in the race with the most potential. Barlovento – 4/5 (Win) (NAP)
2.20 Hexham: B K Racing Long Distance Handicap Chase: Next up for me is the 2.20 at Hexham which is a Class 4 handicap chase that’s contested over the marathon distance of four miles. I’m with Breeze Of Wind here for the combination of Stuart & Sam Coltherd. He’ll have no issue with the distance here having won over track and trip back in March with that success coming off just a four-pound lower mark. The ground may be a slight concern, however, I think his form over this sort of distance makes him the one to beat for me. He’s consistent and looks very solid. Breeze Of Wind – 10/3 (Win)
3.20 Warwick: Book Now To Secure NYE Tickets Handicap Chase: My fourth and final pick comes from back at Warwick and in the 3.20 which is a Class 5 handicap chase over two miles. I like Copernic Du Mazet here for Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero, who’s the mount of Robert Dunne. He was consistent without winning over hurdles, placing in several of his races and was sent off the 15/8 favourite for his recent chase debut at Bangor before falling two out. He was going the best that day and should he get a clearer round on this occasion I think he’s got a very solid chance of making amends. It would be disappointing should he not go close. Copernic Du Mazet – 7/4 (Win) (NB)
