2.25 Leopardstown: Bahrain Turf Club Knockaire Stakes: I’ll be getting things underway on Sunday with the 2.25 at Leopardstown which is the Listed Knockaire Stakes over a mile. I’m taking a chance on Magical Sunset in this for Adrian Murray and David Egan. She’s not quite lived up to her form from last season, but I still think she has more than enough ability to win a Listed race. She acts on soft ground which she’ll encounter here, and if she runs up to the level of her fourth in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot back in June she can have a big say. Magical Sunset – 8/1 (Each-Way) (4 places – Sky Bet)
3.10 Sedgefield: bet365 “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle: Next up for me will be the 3.10 at Sedgefield which is a Class 4 maiden that’s ridden over two miles and a furlong. I think that this can go to Kabuki who for Donald McCain and Brian Hughes. He was travelling strongly before making a mistake on his first run of the campaign earlier this month at Warwick, eventually finishing fourth of eleven and he should build on that effort here. If cleaning up his jumping he should be posting a bold bid. Kapuki – 9/4 (Win) (NB)
4.00 Kempton: TrustATrader Approved And Reviewed Trades People Hurdle: My third selection of the afternoon comes from Kempton and in the 4.00 which is a Listed hurdle over two miles. It’s hard to get away from Rubaud in this particular affair for the team of Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. He won the race last year before going on to win the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton on his next outing. He’s the best horse in the race on ratings and he should be ready to go here in an attempt to retain his crown. Rubaud – 15/8 (Win) (NAP)
4.35 Kempton: TrustATrader Fully Vetted Trades People Handicap Chase: Selection number four and my final pick comes in the 4.35 at Kempton which is a Class 4 handicap chase over a distance of three miles. I like the chances of Killer Kane here for the combination of Joe Tizzard and Freddie Gingell who takes off three pounds. He’s a course and distance winner and despite probably not being the horse of old, he looks to be on a very tempting mark here. He should still have enough ability in the locker to do well in this. Killer Kane – 4/1 (Win)
