1.30: Download The BetMGM App Handicap: This week’s Saturday Preview will be solely focused on Sandown and I’m kicking things off with the opener at 1.30 which is a Class 3 handicap over a mile and a furlong. I like Mr Monaco here for Raph Beckett and Rossa Ryan. He was fourth of eleven on handicap debut at Goodwood but only half of a length behind the winner. He’s been raised just a pound for that effort and if turning up in the same kind of form he can go well again in this. Mr Monaco – 7/2 (Win)
2.05: Listen To BetMGM On talkSPORT Handicap: Next up it’s the 2.05 which is more handicap action this time a Class 3 over a mile. I’m with Dancing Magic here for the team of Roger Teal and Oisin Murphy. He’s still a maiden, however, has been knocking at the door in some competitive contests and none more so than his most recent outing at Chester when finishing second of thirteen. He’s up just a pound for that effort and if getting some luck in the run here he’s got every chance of featuring. Dancing Magic – 11/2 (Each-Way)
2.40: BetMGM: It’s Showtime Scurry Stakes: The Listed Scurry Stakes comes up at 2.40 which is set to be ridden over a distance of five furlongs. I’ve sided with Adaay In Devon here for Rod Millman and Silvestre De Sousa. She looks by far the most solid selection in the race, with question marks about form and ground hanging over most of her rivals here. She’s had a fine season so far, winning twice including a Listed race at Bath before placing in her last two starts over six furlongs. She should relish this return to five and can give her running again. Adaay In Devon – 2/1 (Win) (NB)
3.15: Win Up To £2M With Golden Goals Handicap: My fourth selection of the day comes in the 3.15 which is a Class 3 handicap that’s ridden over seven furlongs. I like the chances of Mount Teide here for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy. He was an impressive winner of a novice event at Chepstow last month, winning by four lengths. There’s likely more progression in him yet and if that’s the case he can make a bold bid on his handicap debut here. Mount Teide – 3/1 (Win)
3.50: Darley British EBF Maiden Stakes: We move into maiden company at 3.50 with a Class 2 maiden over a mile and two furlongs. This looks like a good opportunity for Chorus to get her head in front for William Haggas and Tom Marquand. She’s shown a decent level of ability in her three starts to date, with her most recent effort being her best one yet when finishing three-quarters of a length third of eight in a Class 2 novice event at Ascot last month. If she runs up to that sort of level again here it could be enough. Chorus – 15/8 (Win) (NAP)
4.25: Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap: The penultimate race of the day is the 4.25 which is a Class 4 fillies handicap over a mile. I’m taking a chance of Get Jiggy With It here for Charlie Hills and William Buick. She makes her handicap debut here with several second-placed efforts to her name within maiden and novice company, without claiming that elusive victory. Some of those runs came in within competitive company, in particular last year where she placed in three Class 2 maidens. Stepping into this level of handicaps could see her to best effect and I think she has a very solid chance. Get Jiggy With It -11/4 (Win)
5.00: Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap: The concluding race of the afternoon is the 5.00 which is a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Rhythmic Intent here for Stuart Williams and Silvestre De Sousa. He’s been out of the winner’s enclosure for a while now but showed definite signs of encouragement on his last two starts, finishing fifth in a competitive handicap before finishing three-quarters of a length second at Nottingham earlier this month. He’s on a good mark, the same as that Nottingham run, and if he’s in the same form he can go well. Rhythmic Intent – 15/2 (Each-Way)
