3.00 Curragh: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap: I’m kicking things off on Bank Holiday Monday with a seven-furlong fillies handicap fromthe Curragh. I like Ribchestina here who represents the team of Sheila Lavery and Robbie Colgan. She’s a maiden winner who was fourth of thirteen in Group 3 company behind 1000 Guineas fancy Porta Fortuna on her second outing of last season, she made her return to the track with a satisfactory third of five at Gowran Park which should put her right for this. She’s unexposed and I think she can go well in a race of this nature. Ribchestina – 14/1 (Each-Way)

3.35 Curragh: Coolmore Stud Little Big Bear Irish EBF Athasi Stakes: I’m staying at Curragh for my second selection of the afternoon which comes in the Group 3 Athasi Stakes over a distance of seven furlongs. I like Magical Sunset here who’s currently a 20/1 chance in the betting for Adrian Murray and David Egan. She actually ran a decent race on stable debut in the Group 3 Express Stakes at the Curragh back in March, travelling well before emptying which suggests this drop back down to seven should suit. She had some solid form when trained in the UK by Richard Hannon and I wouldn’t be surprised if she went close here. Magical Sunset – 20/1 (Each-Way)

3.40 Beverley: Brian Dixon Memorial Fillies’ Handicap: It’s over to Beverley for my third pick of the day which is another fillies handicap, this time over seven and a half furlongs. I like Willow Baby here for Jason Ward and Silvestre De Sousa. She’s a long-standing maiden but has run well in handicap company, most notably, on her seasonal reappearance at Doncaster last month when finishing third of eight, with that run also coming on soft ground. If she builds on that here, which is likely, she’s got every chance of claiming that elusive victory. Willow Baby – 12/1 (Each-Way)

4.05 Kempton: Heart Of The Community Since 1878 Handicap Chase: My fourth selection of the afternoon comes over the jumps at Kempton in the 4.05 which is handicap chase action over three miles. I’m with Karl Philippe here for the combination of Fergal O’Brien and Jack Hogan who takes off three pounds. He’s not had a hard season, only having the four runs and ran his best race of the campaign to date last time out here when three-quarters of a length third of eleven. He’ll contest this off just two pounds higher and I think he can go well once more. Karl Phillippe – 9/2 (Win)

4.10 Curragh: Coolmore Stud Sottsass Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes: Signing me off for the afternoon will be the 4.10 at the Curragh which is the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes over a mile and two furlongs. I like Maxux here for Joseph O’Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle. She was a very impressive four-and-a-quarter length winner of a Group 3 on her final start of last season and returned to the track with a fine neck second to White Birch in the Alleged Stakes here last month. She’s better off at the weights here with that rival and if naturally progression with each run I think she’s got to have a massive chance here. Maxux – 7/2 (Win)
