Feature Meeting: Wetherby
2.10: Join Racing TV Now Maiden Hurdle: After a few days off we return to action at Wetherby and my first punt of the day comes in the 2.10 which is a maiden hurdle over two miles. I think that this can go to Goldwyn for the team of Mark Walford and Jamie Hamilton. He’s placed in both starts sine joining the Walford yard and can go one better here in what looks like a moderate field at best. Both of his encouraging efforts this term have come on testing ground which should also stand him in good stead. Goldwyn – 6/4 (Win)
3.20: Bulloughs Cleaning Services Handicap Chase: Next up for me is the 3.20 which is a handicap chase that’s ridden over a mile and seven furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Beat The Edge here for Tim Easterby and Brian Hughes. He’s not actually won since winning this race last year, however, there have been several encouraging efforts despite not getting his head in front. He’ll contest this off a five-pound lower mark than that previous success and as a result, I think he’s a player. Beat The Edge – 13/2 (Each-Way)
3.55: Full Circle Series At Punchestown Festival Handicap Hurdle: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.55 which is a handicap hurdle over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I like the chances of Yes Day here for the team of Jonjo O’Neil and Richie McLernon. He was a solid third last time out on his handicap debut at Haydock last month and I think down in grade here and slightly in trip, he can make his presence felt. It would be disappointing should he not post a bold bid. Yes Day – 9/2 (Win) (NAP)
5.05: 100% Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Handicap Hurdle: Signing me off for the afternoon is the 5.05 which is more handicap hurdle action, this time over three miles. I think that this can go to Kinder Kid for Tina Jackson and Ross Chapman. He won in impressive style last time out at Wetherby which came only last week, and he’s highly respected here under a penalty. Most of the opposition here coming into the race in questionable form, and I think he could well go in again. Kinder Kid – 15/8 (Win)
