Feature Meeting: Haydock

.15: Maximum Eco For Super Concentrated Cleaning Juvenile Hurdle: Kicking things off for me on Wednesday will be the 2.15 which is a juvenile hurdle over a mile and seven and a half furlongs. I like the chances of Glorious Lion here for Harry Derham and Paul O’Brien. He’s progressed with each run to date, with his best effort coming last time out at Kelso when second of six on soft ground. If he continues his current rate of progression he should have a serious say in this. Glorious Lion – 5/2 (Win)

.50: Greyland 25th Annivesary Handicap Chase: We have to wait until the 3.50 for my second selection of the day which is handicap chase action over there miles and five and a half furlongs. I like Jubilee Express here for the team of Sam Thomas and Sam Twiston-Davies. He was second last time out over a similar distance at Lingfield when he pulled away from the rest of the field with the winner, he likely has a lot more to offer as he still looks relatively unexposed. If getting a clear round I think he can go one better here. Jubilee Express – 9/4 (Win)

.25: Here’s To Another Greyland 25 Years Handicap Hurdle: My third selection comes in the 4.25 which is a handicap hurdle that’s ridden over two miles and three furlongs. I’m taking a somewhat tentative chance on Romeo Brown here at the prices for Sue Smith and Tom Midgely who takes off three pounds. He’s not shown much at all in recent times and is now a ten-year-old, however, he’s on an ever-decreasing handicap mark and if he retains any of his old ability he should be at least competitive in a 0-120 handicap. There are three places on offer and I’m willing to chance him. Romeo Brown – 9/1 (Each-Way)

.00: Maximum Eco For Sustainability Handicap Hurdle: The fourth and final punt of the day comes up at 5.00 in a handicap hurdle over three miles and half of a furlong. I’ve sided with Hashtag Boum here for Ruth Jefferson and Henry Brooke. She’s a dual winner in handicap hurdles and has developed into a very consistent performer with form figures 216221 over the last twelve months. Her mark still looks manageable despite consistently increasing and I think she’s got every chance of going close again once more in this particular assignment. Hashtag Boum – 7/2 (Win)
