Feature Meeting: Exeter
2.30: Aco Europe Pitching The Par Inn Maiden Hurdle: My first selection on Tuesday at Exeter comes in the 2.30 which is a maiden hurdle over two miles and five and a half furlongs. This looks like a good opportunity for King Of The Lake for Jeremy Scott and Rex Dingle. He’s placed in all of his starts under rules, including his last three starts over hurdles. This slight drop in trip shouldn’t be an issue and if he runs to the level he’s been running to as of late I think he sets the standard. King Of The Lake – 9/4 (Win)
3.00: Unibet Middle Distance Series Veterans’ Handicap Chase: Next up is the 3.00 which is a Veterans’ handicap chase over two miles and three furlongs. I think Iconic Muddle can go one better here for the team of Gary Moore and Niall Houlihan. He’s finished second on his last three outings and looked the most likely winner at Doncaster last time out before making a bad mistake at the last. With a clearer round of jumping here, he can make amends and get his head in front. Iconic Muddle – 3/1 (Win)
3.30: Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle: My third selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.30 which is handicap hurdle action over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Front View here for Jonjo O’Neil and James Smith who takes off seven pounds. He’s been highly tried this term without winning, however, he has posted some encouraging efforts when hitting the frame. His mark continues to tumble and he should have every chance of being very competitive here over this trip and in a race of this nature. Front View – 6/1 (Each-Way)
4.00: Join Racing TV Today Handicap Chase: Concluding the afternoon’s punting for me will be the 4.00 which is a handicap chase over three miles. I’ve sided with Desert Fortune here for Venetia Williams and Ned Fox who takes off five pounds. He returned from a layoff at Leicester last month when finishing an encouraging second of five and will effectively contest this off a five-pound lower mark taking Fox’s claim into consideration. If he builds on that run here he’s got to be considered a serious player and should be going very close. Desert Fortune – 15/8 (Win) (NAP)
