Feature Meeting: Curragh

.35: Castle Star And Alkumait At Capital Stud Irish EBF Maiden: We’re back on the flat on Monday at the Curragh and we kick things off with the 1.35 which is a maiden over five furlongs, I like Arizona Blaze for Adrian Murray and David Egan, he has a sprinting pedigree as he’s by Sergei Prokofiev and looks a likely type for Amo Racing. If he’s firing on all cylinders he could prove tough to catch. Arizona Blaze – 7/5 (Win)

.05: La Celia Wines Handicap: Next up it’s the 2.05 which is handicap action also over a distance of five furlongs. I’m with Laugh A Minute here for the team of Adrian McGuinness and Adam Caffrey who takes off five pounds. He’s got a fine record on his second outing of the campaign following a spin around Dundalk and he should be ready to go here. He’s won this race for the last two years in a row and I think he can go very close once again. Laugh A Minute – 15/4 (Win)

.40: Lodge Park Stud Irish EBF Park Express Stakes: I’m moving onto the 3.40 for my third selection of the afternoon which is the Group 3 Express Stakes over a mile. I’m taking a chance on Magical Sunset here who’s moved from Richard Hannon to Adrian Murray, and is set to be ridden by David Egan. She was highly tried last term in hot races and won a Group 3 at Goodwood back in August. She’s proven at this sort of level and I think she’s a cracking each-way- bet. Magical Sunset – 8/1 (Each-Way)

.10: Nua Healthcare Irish Lincolnshire: My fourth and final pick of the day comes in the 4.10 which is the feature race of the day the Irish Lincolnshire, a Premier Handicap over a mile. I’m siding with Raadobarg here for George Boughey and David Egan, who’s another one for Amo Racing. He won the race a couple of years ago when with Jonny Murtagh, and despite that being off a seven-pound lower mark he did win next time out off 107, which is two pounds higher than his current mark. He posted several solid efforts last term in competitive contests without actually winning, but I think early on the season could be the time to catch him. Raadobarg – 11/2 (Each-Way)
