Feature Meeting: Taunton
2.40: Royal Bath & West Of England Society Maiden Hurdle: The first of my selections at Taunton on Tuesday is the 2.40 which is a maiden hurdle over two miles and half of a furlong. This looks to be all about Golden Move for me for the team of Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden. He was a useful performer when campaigned on the flat, rated in the 80’s and should take some beating on hurdling debut here in a race that doesn’t look at all the strongest. Golden Move – 4/5 (Win) (NAP)
3.10: Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Handicap Chase: My second selection of the afternoon comes in the 3.10 which is a handicap chase that’s ridden over two miles and seven furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Mumbo Jumbo here for Emma Lavelle and Joe Anderson who takes off five pounds. He’s not shown anything on his last two starts, however, he did run well at Exeter prior to that and will contest this off an eight pound lower mark with the riders claim being bought into consideration. He should at least be competitive here. Mumbo Jumbo – 15/2 (Win)
3.40: Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Handicap Hurdle: Next up is the 3.40 which is where I’ll be turning my attention for my third and final selection. This race is a handicap hurdle over two miles and half of a furlong. I’m with Vicki Vale here for the team of Dan & Harry Skelton who’s currently a 7/2 chance in the betting. She’s ran well in each of her starts this season within competitive handicaps, and she can bridge the gap of her two length defeat to Inca De Lafayette now she gets two pounds back from that rival. I think the drop back down in trip will also play to her strengths. Vicki Vale – 7/2 (Win)
