Welcome aboard to Friday’s Midweek Preview where I’ll be focusing my attention on Musselburgh and Ludlow where I’ve got several selections to share with you all. As ever, make sure to gamble responsibly if you are having a bet.
12.25 Ludlow: Ludlow Junior “National Hunt” Hurdle: Kicking things off for me will be the 12.25 at Ludlow which is a hurdling action over two miles. This can go to Love Tree for James Owen and James Bowen. She’s beaten market rival Dameofthecotswolds on the last two occasions, including a seven-length victory over course and distance last time out. The weights could still prove too much for that gap to be bridged, and I think she’ll be very tough to beat here. Love Tree – 4/5F (Win)
2.10 Ludlow: Racing UK Handicap Hurdle: Next up it’s the 2.10 at Ludlow which is a handicap hurdle over three miles. I’m siding with Balkardy here who’s currently a 5/1 chance in the betting for Evan Williams and Eleanor Williams who takes off seven pounds. He arrives here with a string of seconds next to his name, however, I think he’s reasonably weighted with the rider’s claim and there could be more to come from him against rivals who have a lot less convincing form. 3.05 Musselburgh: @ToteRacing On Twitter (Not X) Handicap Chase: Over to Musselburgh now for their 3.05 which is a handicap chase ridden over two miles. I’m with Upagainstit here who represents the team of Donald McCain and champion jockey Brian Hughes. He faded over a longer trip on his seasonal reappearance back in November, and I think the drop back down to two miles should see him to best effect as he won over this distance on his chase debut. He should also come on from that last run. Upagainstit – 4/1 (Win)
3.20 Ludlow: Luke Watson Memorial “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle: My final selection of the afternoon comes from back at Ludlow in a maiden hurdle at 3.20. I think that this can go to Magical Escape who’s currently an 11/4 chance for Kim Bailey and David Bass. He showed bundles of improvement to finish second at Chepstow on his most recent outing, and if he’s to progress again from that effort could take a lot of beating here. Magical Escape – 11/4F (Win)
