Welcome aboard to this Midweek Preview where I’ve got three selections to share with you all, two of which come from Wincanton and the other from Carlisle. As ever, if you are punting, make sure to do so in a responsible manner.
2.35 Wincanton: Wyke Farms Handicap Hurdle: My first selection of the afternoon comes from Wincanton in a handicap hurdle which is contested over two miles and five and a half furlongs. I’ve taken a chance on First Quest here who’s currently a 13/2 chance for Sheena West and Marc Goldstein. He had a few spins on the flat in the summer and posted a solid effort back over obstacles at Fontwell earlier this month when finishing second of twelve. He’ll contest this off the same mark as that last effort, and he’s won off higher at this track in the past. First Quest – 13/2 (Each-Way)
3.10 Wincanton: Congratulations Somerset Cricket T20 Blast Champions Handicap Chase: We stay at Wincanton for my second punt of the day which this time comes in a handicap chase over three miles and a furlong. I’ve sided with Organdi here to follow on from her dominant success at Fontwell last month, where she won by twenty-one lengths albeit in a race that fell apart. Despite a five-pound rise in the weights, she’s still won off much higher marks in the past and can make the most of having race fitness in this as well. Organdi – 11/2 (Each-Way)
3.35 Carlisle: Bet In Play On Rhino.Bet Handicap Chase: It’s over to Carlisle for my third and final selection of the afternoon, and this is another handicap chase which is this time ridden over three miles and half of a furlong. I think that Morning Spirit could go well here for Jonjo O’Neil and Jonjo Jr, he’s tumbled down the weights back to his last winning mark, which came over course and distance. He’s got a lot of very solid form in competitive races to his name and the weather forecast currently shows that he should get the rain that he likely needs. Morning Spirit – 9/1 (Each-Way)
