Welcome aboard to this Midweek Preview which again comes from Ayr where we have four selections again to share with you all throughout the afternoon, including our fancy in the Bronze Cup. So, as ever, if you are punting make sure to do so in a responsible manner.
1.45: Nursery Handicap: Kicking things off for me will be the 1:45 which is a Nursery Handicap over six furlongs. In this particular affair, I’m taking a chance on Flaccianello for Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr. She’s already won a handicap on his penultimate outing at Newmarket which came on soft ground, and ran very respectably last time out in a valuable two-year-old race at Doncaster. Her mark still looks to be workable and she can go well here. Flaccianello – 10/3 (Win)
2.15: Harry Rosebery Stakes: It’s Listed action at 2:15 with the Harry Roseberry Stakes that’s contested over six furlongs. I’ve sided with Beautiful Diamond here who’s currently a best price of 9/4 for the in-form Karl Burke yard. She looked an exciting prospect when winning on debut at Nottingham before continuing said promise with a fine third in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. Most recently she finished fifth in the Lowther Stakes at York behind the very smart Relief Rally, she was only just under two-lengths behind her that day and I think Burke’s filly still has considerable progression, it would be disappointing for her not to put in a bold showing here. Beautiful Diamond – 11/8 (Win)
2.50: Arran Scottish Sprint EBF Fillies’ Stakes: The 2:50 is more Listed action for the fillies and this is a competitive affair to say the least, I’m siding with Queen Me though for the Kevin Ryan yard who’s the mount of Shane Gray. She’s been plying her trade in Group 1 company this term, and whilst she’s found it tough she was only three lengths behind Shaquille in the Commonwealth Cup back in June, which is standout form. I think that this ease in grade is just what she wants and she should go close if everything is well with her, she should also handle soft going. Queen Me – 5/1 (Each-Way)
3.25: Ayr Bronze Cup: My fourth and final punt of the day comes in the feature at 3:25 which is the Bronze Cup which is another extremely competitive handicap, and a consolidation races to the big races in days to come. I’ve sided with the 2019 winner Music Society here to make a return to form, he seems to save his best for this track as he finished half a length second here back in July, which was one of his best runs of the season. He’s dropped down to a mark which is lower than the one he won this race off a few years back, and if getting some luck in the run has every chance. Music Society – 9/1 (Each-Way)
