A big welcome to my Glorious Goodwood preview for 2019. In this year’s edition I’ll be taking a look at the feature race of each day by compiling a runner by runner guide, a race verdict and a win and each way selection where applicable. So as ever, sit back and enjoy!

Qatar King George Stakes Verdict:

The feature race on Day 4 of Goodwood is the King George Stakes which is a Group 2 sprint and a race that looks somewhat a formality when it comes to the winner. This is because the race should go to Battaash for a third consecutive year and he should win this with minimal fuss which is reflected in his price of a general 1/3. The entirety of the remainder of the field has every chance of hitting the frame and I’ve taken a chance on COPPER KNIGHT at a big price to follow Charlie Hills’ star home. He’s a horse that has shown consistent form this season in sprints at a decent level and comes here with a more solid-looking chance than most barring the favourite. At 25/1 I think he’s well worth a go as the each-way alternative and you could probably get a decent price on him in the without the favourite markets.
