23:45 (02/11) Flemington – (Darley Maribyrnong Plant) (G3)
ROYAL PRESS sets the standard here after finishing second in the Debutante Stakes last time out at Caulfield on racecourse debut. He was only beaten by a nose on that occasion, and with natural improvement highly likely, he should go very close for the McEvoy team.
Selection: Royal Press – (5/2) (Win)
00:20 Flemington – (Pin & Win Community Handicap)
The Chris Waller-trained CHISPA hasn’t been at her best as of late; however, James McDonald returns in the saddle for this assignment, and from a low gate, she could post a much improved effort for a powerhouse trainer and jockey combination.
Selection: Chispa – (5/1) (Each-Way)
01:00 Flemington – (Tab One Pool Trophy)
It could pay to side with Godolphin’s FRINGILLA here under Craig Williams. She was a maiden winner on her penultimate start, before running well to finish fifth of fourteen in a Group 3 last time out at Caulfield. She should continue to improve and make her presence felt in this.
Selection: Fringilla – (7/2) (Win)
01:40 Flemington – (The Schweppervescence Plate)
Michael Hickmott’s OLE GO makes plenty of appeal here with James McDonald booked. He won by just shy of two lengths last time out at Morphettville, in what was his first start since April. He should take a big step forward here, and it would be no surprise to see him post a very bold bid, and this is likely expected.
Selection: Ole Go – (9/2) (Win) (NAP)

02:20 Flemington – (Australian Heritage Cup)
TEMPESTI posted a highly encouraging effort on his stable debut for Gavin Bedggood last time out, finishing second of ten, and just three-quarters of a length behind the winner in the Group 3 St Leger Stakes, behind Cup hopeful So You Are. He has classy form from when he was trained in Italy, and repeating his run from last time would give him a serious chance.
Selection: Tempesti – (11/2) (Each-Way)
02:55 Flemington – (Asahi Super Dry Plate) (Listed)
On all known form, SABAJ should take a bit of beating in this for Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr. He’s been highly tried at the top level and has run very well in a couple of Group 1s at this track. He was given too much to do in Group 1 company at Caulfield last time, and it would be disappointing if he didn’t go extremely close in this.
Selection: Sabaj – (11/8) (Win) (NB)

04:00 Flemington – (Melbourne Cup) (G1 Handicap)
The European challengers are greatly respected, with Hopewell Rock and Trustyourinstinct the likely main players. However, POINT OF LAW makes plenty of appeal for Ciaron Maher and Ethan Brown. He was highly progressive when trained in the UK by John & Thady Gosden, winning twice, including a Group 3 success in the Bahrain Trophy on his final start, as well as an excellent fourth at Royal Ascot when just a length and a half behind Limestone in the Queen’s Vase. He opened his account at the first time of asking for Maher in the Group 3 Geelong Cup last time out, getting the better of progressive European-raider Small Fry in the process. He’s open to plenty of improvement, and it remains to be seen where his ceiling is.
Selection: Point Of Law – (13/2) (Each-Way)
