I’ve tried my hand with three more bets from Yarmouth’s Eastern Festival on Wednesday, the first of which coming in the opener at 1.56, a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs. I’ve come down on DELUDED for Charlie Fellows and Paddy Bradley. He was a maiden winner at Wolverhampton last term, and has since posted some creditable efforts in handicaps within this grade, as well as a neck second in Class 5 company on his seasonal reappearance. Notably, he drops down to six furlongs here, and he could prove tough to peg back if he gets a prominent ride. He’s still relatively unexposed, and should have more to offer among this sort of company. The in-form Massimo Blue will be a popular order here for Dylan Cunha and Billy Loughnane; he’s won his last two starts, and has every chance of bringing the three-timer up.

My best bet of the day on Wednesday comes in the 3.41, and this is the feature: the Listed John Musker Fillies’ over a mile and two furlongs. I’m quite strong on the chances of FAIRY GLEN here for Simon & Ed Crisford, who’s the mount of Callum Rodriguez. She won back-to-back Group 2 contests at Meydan in the Spring, getting the better of Cabello De Mar in the Dubai Gold Cup in the latter of those victories, which is very solid form. On her most recent outing, she was only half a length behind that same rival in Group 1 company in France. That level of form would likely be enough to win this, and I think she has to be in with a very serious say. William Haggas’ Rhapsody has finished second in Group 3 and Listed company at the Curragh and York in her last two starts, and she has to enter calculations on the back of those runs, under Tom Marquand.

My third and final bet of the day runs in the 4.12, where we have a competitive Class 3 handicap over a mile and a furlong. I’ve taken a chance on MASKED WARRIOR at the prices here for the team of William Haggas and Tom Marquand. He was a three and a half length winner of a novice event at Kempton three starts ago in May, before following up with a very solid effort on his handicap debut in a Class 2 event at Chester, finishing third of nine and a length and three-quarters behind the winner on that occasion. You could possibly put a line through his latest run at Ripon, where he wasn’t put in an ideal position, and notably, I think he’ll appreciate the softer surface here being by New Bay. The unbeaten Enoch could prove a cut above this level for John & Thady Gosden; he’s also acquired the services of Ryan Moore for this assignment and has to be considered a danger to all.
