Thursday 11th June 2026

We’ve got a couple of selections from Yarmouth and a couple from Newbury this Thursday. The first of which comes within the 2.10 at Yarmouth, and this is a Class 6 ‘hands & heels’ handicap, over six furlongs. I like HERETIC here for Michael Herrington and Jake Dickson. He posted a very encouraing effort on what was a belated turf debut at Doncaster last month, when finishing third of thirteen. He’s been lowered a further pound for his troubles on that occasion, and has to be considered a player here off a mark which is five pounds below his last winning one. Rusheen Boy looks to be his main danger, and a mention also has to go to the unexposed Divine Wish.

It’s over to Newbury and the 2.20 for my second selection, and this is a Class 4 novice event over six and a half furlongs. It could pay to side with CLOUD SUMMIT here for the team of George Boughey and Billy Loughnane. The yard won a division of this race last year with Moonfall, and their two-year-olds are running well so far this term. It would be no surprise to see him make a winning start to his career. Sole Ambition looks potentially useful on paper for Ed Walker, and is a likely threat, and Note To Self is likely to be a lot closer on his second start for the Gosden’s.

My best bet of the day runs in the 2.45 at Yarmouth, a Class 4 novice event over six furlongs. I’m strong on the chances of UPPER HENDERSYDE here for Jane Chapple-Hyam, who’s the mount of Zac Lloyd. He’s a 220,000gns gelding by Havana Grey, who posted a very encouraing effort at Salisbury last month when finishing second of twelve, and just half of a length behind the winner. He should show natural improvement coming into his second start here, and that has to make him of serious interest. Nevasca Cinza has shown ability, without setting the world alight so far, and is expected to be thereabouts once more, and there could be significant improvement from Anyasi; however, he’s not been seen since August.

I head back to Newbury and the 4.05 for my fourth and final selection of the afternoon, and this is a Class 4 handicap over six furlongs. I like WILD CLARY here for the team of Richard Hannon and Sean Levey. He’s only won once in fifteen outings; however, that doesn’t tell the full story, as he has a plethora of placed efforts to his name, and he’s run well in each of his three starts so far this term. Most recently, he finished third of thirteen, and a length and a half behind the winner in Class 3 company at Carlisle, and looks a big player here off the same mark in a lower grade. Justcallmepete arrives here in great form, and is a course and distance winner, making him a big threat, and Righthere Rightnow could outrun a big price off his current mark.
