Sunday 26th April 2026

Following a brilliant day on Saturday with three winners from four selections, including 12/1 and 9/2 winners, it’s over to Nottingham for the first of my four selections on Sunday, and the 3.20, which is a Class 6 handicap that’s contested over six furlongs. This is competitive for a seven-runner affair; however, I like the chances of ORBITAL CHIME for the team of James Owen and Luke Morris. He’s been knocking on the door as of late, notably when finishing close up in the placings at Wolverhampton and Thirsk earlier this month. Those runs came over further; however, the drop back down to six furlongs here could be what he’s after, as his last success came over today’s distance. That win also came off a five-pound higher mark, so he does have a lot in his favour.

I head over to Musselburgh for my second selection of the afternoon, and this comes within the 3.45, which is a Class 4 apprentice handicap over a mile. Jim Goldie is no stranger to success around here, and he could hold the key to this particular affair with DWINDLING FUNDS, who’s the mount of three-pound claimer Rhys Elliott. He enjoyed a highly progressive campaign last term, and posted a very encouraing effort on his seasonal reappearance at this track last month, finishing second twelve over nine furlongs. He should naturally be significantly fitter coming into his second start of the season here, and he has to be considered as a serious player off the same mark. He looks like a rock-solid play in a competitive race.

My third selection of the day comes back at Nottingham, and in the 4.25, and this is a Class 3 handicap that’s ridden over five furlongs. I’m quite strong on the chances of NAD ALSHIBA GREEN here, and she’s my best bet of the day for Clive Cox and Rossa Ryan. She was a course and distance winner for Michael Appleby, and ran very well on her stable and seasonal debut for Clive Cox at Wolverhampton last month, finishing half of a length second of eight to the reopposing Layla Liz. There’s plenty to suggest that she can turn that form around here off slightly better weights, and now that she’s back on turf. She also has the services of Rossa Ryan on this occasion, which is always a positive and a bold showing could well be on the cards.

Signing me off for the day will be the 4.35 at Wetherby, which is a Class 5 handicap that’s contested over a mile. I’ve kept the faith with SEA SUITE here, who’s another one for James Owen, and this time the mount of Cieran Fallon. He won on his seasonal reappearance at Southwell in March, and followed that up with a good effort at Musselburgh earlier this month, finishing fourth of ten and a length and a quarter behind the eventual winner Abduction. I put him up on that occasion, and he was arguably slightly unlucky, given that he didn’t get the clearest of runs at the business end of things. There should be more to come from him within handicap company, and he can go well again here off the same mark.
