12.00: LA LUNA ARTISTA kept on well to win on her rules debut in an Exeter bumper last month over thirteen furlongs. The step up to two miles here should be well within her compass, and she has every chance of making a winning start to life over obstacles for Jane Williams. (Win)
12.35: BARON NOIR was a dual winner in bumpers last term, signing off his campaign with victory at Punchestown back in May. He could well prove to be useful over hurdles this term for Alan King, and can post a bold bid on his first start of the campaign here. (NAP) (Win)
1.10: PISMO BEACH signed off last season with an impressive third-place finish within a Grade 2 handicap at Newbury, and opened her account at the first time of asking this time around, with a two-length success at Hexham last month within maiden company. There could be further improvement to come now she’s handicapping, and she has to be considered as a significant player here for Stuart Edmunds and Charlie Hammond. (Win)
1.45: TORN AND FRAYED won this race last year, and comes into this year’s renewal in great form, having won well at Aintree last time out within a similar event by two and three-quarters of a length. He’s found a new lease of life within these contests, and another bold showing is likely here. (Win)
2.20: DREAM SHADOW placed in two Listed bumpers last term, as well as winning one, and went close to opening her account at the first time of asking at Uttoxeter last month on her seasonal reappearance, finishing a close second. She should almost certainly improve coming into her second start here, and should go well for Fergal O’Brien and Jonathan Burke. (NB) (Win)
2.55: SETTLE DOWN JILL could be worth taking a chance on here for the team of Dan Skelton, and seven-pound claimer Harry Atkins. She was a novice hurdle winner last season, and this is a significant ease in grade for her compared to the Grade 2 event she contested last time out at Wincanton. She also has a low weight, with the rider’s claim coming into play, and she could well play a meaningful role. (Each-Way)
3.28: JOLLIE DAME is a £100,000 filly by No Risk At All, and represents the unstoppable machine that is the Skelton yard. This doesn’t look like the strongest of contests, and she probably wouldn’t need to be too far above average to make a winning debut. The yard also has a solid record within these types of events.
