Chelmsford Selections

Thursday 9th October 2025

NAP: Valedictory – 8/11

Royal blue

6.15 Chelmsford

NB: Dark Angel Star – 10/3

5.10 Chelmsford

Treble: General Assembly – 11/2

Pink, royal blue star, royal blue sleeves, pink stars, royal blue cap, pink star

5.45 Chelsmford

4.00: River Spey – 8/13 (Win)

Placed in his last three outings, all coming within Class 2 company, including when a close-up fourth in a competitive York handicap. Sets the standard here, and it would be disappointing should he not open his account.

Pink, emerald green chevron, halved sleeves, emerald green and pink quartered cap

4.35: Rogue Empire – 7/2 (Win)

Posted his best effort to date last time out over two miles at Kempton, finishing a length and a quarter third. Remains on the same mark here, and if in the same form, should go well again off the same mark.

Yellow and red (quartered), diabolo on sleeves, red cap

5.10: Dark Angel Star – 10/3 (Win) (NB)

Novice winner last time out at Newcastle over today’s distance, and should have a significant amount of improvement still to come. Makes handicap debut here and has every chance of proving to be too good for this level.

5.45: General Assembly – 11/2 (Each-Way) (Treble)

Ran well on his last two outings, with both starts coming at this track over five and six furlongs. Continues to nudge down the weights and has to have a big chance now he’s dropped into Class 6 company here. He’ll contest this off three pounds below his last winning mark.

Pink, royal blue star, royal blue sleeves, pink stars, royal blue cap, pink star

6.15: Valedictory – 8/11 (Win) (NAP)

Not been beaten far in both starts to date at Doncaster and Newmarket, with both of those outings coming within Class 2 company. Sets the form standard on the back of those runs, and should post a very bold bid here for top connections.

Royal blue

6.45: Newsreader – 3/1 (Win)

Four pounds below last winning mark, and has been running well as of late, whilst still gradually nudging down the weights. Won three times on the all-weather over this distance, albeit all at Kempton; however, should still give a good account for a yard that’s ticking along nicely.

White, mauve star

7.15: Jungle Land – 12/1 (Each-Way)

Back down to last winning mark, with a further five pounds coming off his back via his raider, which makes him look well-handicapped here. Also ran encouragingly enough when fourth on stable debut at Yarmouth last time out, and should give a good account of himself here.

Dark blue, yellow diamond, yellow cap

7.45: Suzuka – 4/1 (Each-Way)

Nine-race maiden, however, has run her best races to date in her last two starts, finishing second of eleven last time out at Kempton. She’ll contest this off the same mark as the Kempton outing, and there’s nothing to suggest that she won’t be bang there again.

8.15: Cinderella Man – 10/3 (Win)

Hasn’t been seeing it out over ten furlongs, and the drop back down to a mile here could well be what he’s after. Could be hard to peg back from a positive ride, chances here in a poor race off a lowly mark.

Beige, light blue cross of lorraine
