2.20 Nottingham: weatherbysshop.co.uk Handicap
The first of my two selections on Thursday comes from Nottingham, and the 2.20, which is a Class 6 handicap that’s contested over a distance of five furlongs. I’m taking a chance on Yazaman here for the team of Paul Midgley and Mark Winn. He ran with credit last time out at Beverley in a similar contest, finishing fifth and just two lengths behind the eventual winner. He’s been lowered a further pound for that outing, and will contest this off five pounds below his last winning one. He’s also a course and distance winner, and I think he could go well in this.

4.20 Nottingham: Weatherbys Digital Solutions Maiden Fillies’ Stakes
My second selection also comes from Nottingham, and within the 4.20, which is a Class 5 fillies’ maiden, which is ridden over a mile and half of a furlong. This looks like a good opportunity for Invisible to open her account for Tom Clover and Jack Mitchell. She’s had five starts now and has placed in the last four of those, including over course and distance last time out within a Class 4 handicap. That piece of form sets the standard here, and her more inexperienced rivals would have to run up to a decent level to get the better of her on that run. She should go very close.
