Tuesday’s Best Bets
2.10: Nottingham
My first selection of the day, and the week, comes within the 2.10 at Nottingham, and this is low-grade action in the form of a Class 6 classified event over a mile and two furlongs. Tony Carroll’s Crypto’s Dream should be on the premises here under Matthew Lloyd Slater, who takes off seven pounds. She’s been knocking at the door as of late, and was only a length and a half behind the winner when finishing fourth in a similar event at Yarmouth last month. If she runs up to that level again here, it could well prove enough with a further seven pounds coming off his back, and she looks a solid option in a poor affair.
CRYPTOS DREAM – 3/1 (Win)
4.10: Nottingham
Next up for me will be the 4.10 at Nottingham, and this is a Class 6 handicap that’s contested over a distance of six furlongs. My next best bet of the afternoon runs here, and that’s King Of The Jungle for Michael & David Easterby. He’s another with a seven-pound claimer doing the steering, in his case coming in the form of Lewis Chalkley. He posted a very encouraging effort last time out at Newcastle, when finishing a neck second of thirteen, and he’ll effectively contest this off a five-pound lower mark with the rider’s claim coming into play. He’s also won under today’s rider previously.
KING OF THE JUNGLE – 11/4 (Win) (NB)
5.13: Nottingham
My third selection of the afternoon also comes from Nottingham, and within the 5.13, which is another Class 6 handicap, which this time is contested over a mile and half of a furlong. I like Coeur Jaune here for David O’Meara and Jason Watson. She’s still a maiden, however has plenty of promising runs to her name without winning. Most recently, she finished a length and a half third of eight at Haydock earlier this month, and was staying on in the closing stages. The step up in trip should suit based on her latest effort, and she should have a big say here off the same mark.
COEUR JANE – 3/1 (Win)
8.00: Thirsk
I’ve got one selection from Thirsk’s evening card, and this is my best bet of the day. This comes within the 8.00, which is a Class 5 handicap that’s ridden over five furlongs, and I think Tiva has a huge chance here, and she’s another for David O’Meara, this time under Danny Tudhope. She’s still unexposed within handicap company, and has gone close in her last two starts at Redcar and Doncaster, finishing half of a length third in each of those runs. She remains on an unchanged mark here, and her first victory within handicap company is surely forthcoming.
