3.00 Newbury: Get Best Odds Guaranteed At BetVictor Handicap Hurdle: We kick things off on Friday at Newbury and the 3.00 which is a Class 3 handicap hurdle that’s contested over two miles and half of a furlongs. I’ve come down on Mythical Moon here who represents Alan King and is the mount of Tom Bellamy. He’s a novice hurdle winner who was also a neck second behind the very useful Meetmebythesea on his penultimate outing. That rival has since gone close in a competitive Grade 3 handicap and that form looks very decent, he could prove to be thrown in here off a mark of 120. Mythical Moon – 5/2 (Win)
4.37 Newbury: BetVictor Home Of The Saturday Superboost Handicap Hurdle: My second selection of the day also comes from Newbury and in the 4.37 which is a Class 4 handicap hurdle over three miles. I’m with Pachacuti in this for David Pipe and Ben Bromley who takes off five pounds. He’s a solid yardstick for connections and is turned out quite often, his most recent outing came here last month where he stayed on to finish second behind King Of The Lake and that was a solid run. He’s also effectively ten pounds here lower with his rider’s claim than when he finished a neck second over fences in December, and the step back up in trip looks the right thing to do given how he rallied last time out. Pachacuti – 10/1 (Each-Way) (4 places – Several firms)
6.30 Southwell: Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap: My third and final selection comes on the all-weather at Southwell and in the 6.30, a Class 6 handicap over a mile. I’ve sided with Ring Of Gold here for Michael & David Easterby who’s the mount of Joanna Mason. He was very unlucky last time out over course and distance and did very well to finish third behind Northern Cracksman. He met trouble in running on several occasions throughout that race and was also slow away, he’ll contest this off the same mark and if he gets a bit more luck on this occasion he has every chance of making amends. Ring Of Gold – 11/2 (Each-Way)
