2.15 Wetherby: William Hill Betting Done Properly Juvenile Hurdle: My first selection of the day on Friday comes within the 2.15 at Wetherby which is a Class 4 Juvenile Hurdle over two miles. I think that this can go to Hosaamm for Adrian Keatley and Brian Hughes. He was 90+ rated horse on the flat and should build on his run over hurdles at Catterick earlier this month when finishing second and keeping on in the closing stages. It would be disappointing should there not be more to come. Hosaamm – 11/4 (Win)
2.30 Kempton: Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Handicap Chase: It’s over to Kempton now for their 2.30 which is the Grade 2 Desert Orchid Handicap Chase over two miles. I’m taking a chance on Sans Bruit here for Paul Nicholls and Bryony Frost. He was well beaten by today’s favorite Martator last time out, however, now has a considerable swing in the weights. I still don’t think we’ve seen him to best effect and I think he can go well here reunited with Frost who has previously had success on him. Sans Bruit – 9/1 (Each-Way)
2.50 Chepstow: Coral Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase: The feature race of the day at Chepstow comes up at 2.50 and this is the Welsh Grand National over three miles and six and a half furlongs. Naturally, this race is always extremely competitive and in this year’s renewal, I’ve come down on Jubilee Express for Sam Thomas and Dylan Johnston who takes off three pounds. He hasn’t been seen since staying on strongly over three miles and four and a half furlongs to win at Haydock back in May, and he’ll get to carry a low weight here. He’ll have no issues with the ground and I think that marathon trips are exactly what he wants, a big run would be no surprise for a yard having a great season. Jubilee Express – 15/2 (Each-Way)
3.38 Kempton: Ladbrokes ‘Gaffer Of All Accas’ Handicap Hurdle: My fourth and final selection of the day comes back at Kempton and in the 3.38 which is a Class 3 handicap hurdle that’s ridden over two miles. I like Aucunrisque here for Chris Gordon and Rex Dingle. He bounced back to form last time out when winning a competitive handicap at Ascot last month and he still looks to be on a decent mark. If he turns up in the same kind of form he has to be considered a big player here. He’s also a previous course and distance winner. Aucunrisque – 4/1 (Each-Way)
