2.15 Thirsk: Best Prices Guaranteed Daily At Vickers.Bet Maiden Stakes: My first punt of the day comes in the 2.15 at Thirsk which is a maiden event that’s contested over five furlongs. I’m with Atherstone Warrior here for Alice Haynes and Kieran O’Neil. He finished fourth in the Brocklesby at Doncaster on his racecourse debut last month and I’d expect him to come on from that effort here, the ground shouldn’t be an issue for him either and it would be disappointing should he not go close. Atherstone Warrior – 15/8 (Win)
4.15 Thirsk: Download The Vickers.Bet App Handicap: My next selection comes in the 4.15 at Thirsk which is handicap action on the level, also over five furlongs. I’m siding with Illusionist here for the team of Grant Tuer and Sam James. He’s not tasted victory for some time but as a result, he’s dropped down to what looks like a very attractive handicap mark. These conditions should suit him and he’ll certainly come into the race with fitness on his side having had an all-weather campaign. Illusionist – 8/1 (Each-Way)
4.30 Hereford: Blackmores Building Contractors Novices’ Handicap Hurdle: It’s over to Hereford for my third selection of the afternoon and the 4.30 which is a handicap hurdle over two miles. This can go to Tour Ovalie who represents Evan Williams and Isobel Williams who takes off three pounds. She finished second on her handicap debut here last time out and should build on that run here in what looks like an ordinary affair to say the least. These rivals aren’t up to much and she should be at the very least going very close. Tour Ovalie – 6/4 (Win) (NB)
5.00 Hereford: Hereford Motor Group Handicap Hurdle: Signing me off for the afternoon will be the 5.00 at Hereford which is more handicap hurdle action, this time over a distance of two miles and five and a half furlongs. This looks to be all about El Granjero for Clive Boultbee-Brooks and Stan Sheppard. He finally got his head in-front last time out when winning a maiden here by nine lengths after a string of placed efforts, and he could capitalise on his opening handicap mark here. This looks like another fairly poor affair that won’t take much winning. El Granjero – Evs (Win) (NAP)
