Welcome aboard to this Midweek Preview which comes from Worcester where we have some jumps action to get stuck into, I have three selections to share with you all throughout the afternoon there, so, as ever, if you are punting make sure to do so in a responsible manner.
1.50: FBC Manby Bowdler Handicap Chase: The card kicks off with a Class 5 handicap chase over two miles and half of a furlongs and in this trappy affair I’ve come down on Lusitanien for Fergal O’Brien and James Best. He’s a long-standing maiden who’s recently joined the shrewd outfit which is the O’Brien stable, and if anyone can a horse winning they can do just that. He’s also dropped down to a mark that he should be competitive off, and this race is hardly the hottest of contests. Lusitanien – 5/1 (Each-Way)
2.25: Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Handicap Chase: Next up is the 2:25 which is another handicap chase, this time over two miles and four furlongs, and in this contest I’ve sided with Mix Of Clover who represents Alastair Ralph and Alex Edwards. He posted a solid effort on his return to action at Stratford last time when third of six, just under two lengths behind the eventual winner and if he builds on that effort he could well go closer off the same mark here. Mix Of Clover – 10/3 (Win)
4.05: Anja Potze Fine Jewellery Worcester Handicap Hurdle: My third and concluding punt of the afternoon comes in the 4:05 which is a handicap hurdle over two miles and seven furlongs. I think that this can go to Karavomylos who currently heads the betting for the team of Peter & Sean Bowen. He won over course and distance when last seen and looked to be somewhat idling in the closing stages, It’s likely that he could well have more to offer on the back of that run and he arrives into the contest in great form. If progressing again he’s obviously a big player. Karavomylos – 11/4 (Win)
