Friday's Best Bet Musselburgh

Friday’s Best Bet. (07/08/26)

Friday 7th August 2026

I’ve come down on one horse on Friday, and this comes from Musselburgh and in the 2.20, a Class 2 novice event over a distance of five furlongs. I’m quite strong on the chances of FAITH IN FLORENCE here for Ed Walker and Kieran Shoemark. She’s shown a lot of promise in her two starts to date, finishing fourth of ten at Yarmouth on debut in June, before progressing to finish half a length second eleven at Newbury last time out in July, where she was headed in the closing stages. Both of those runs came at six furlongs, and she drops down to five here, which may not look immediately obvious; however, I think she could well dominate from the front here. If she takes another natural step forward, she should go well. She also gets weight off all of her rivals here.

Barnaby Rudge has to be considered a big player here for James Fanshawe, given that he’s won both of his starts to date; however, he has to concede a lot of weight all round. Robert Cowell’s Minster Man is also a big player, and should build on an encouraing second-placed effort on debut.

Selection: Faith In Florence – (6/4) (Win) (NAP) – (2.20 Musselburgh)

Shortlist: Minster Man – (11/4) – (2.20 Musselburgh)
