SALISBURY SELECTIONS
2.30: GO ON MY SON – 6/1 (Each-Way)
Should improve for Windsor debut, where finishing fourth and eight lengths behind the winner. He was prominent in the betting that day, so much better should be expected here.
3.00: SUNNY CORNER – 11/2 (Each-Way)
No show last time out at Chepstow when finishing a distance favourite, when going off as the 10/3 favourite. However, his penultimate run at Newbury would give him a big chance, when finishing second off effectively six pounds lower than today. A repeat of that run could see him bang there.
3.30: MORRIS DANCER – 8/11 (Win) (NAP)
He has the best form on offer here with his fine head second at Goodwood last time out in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes, behind the exciting Zavateri. He looked as though he was still learning on the job on that day, so more improvement is highly likely over a mile. A Bit Of Spirit is a worthy adversary; however, the Gosden charge looks to have more scope.
4.00: PALIO DI SIENA – 15/8 (Win)
Didn’t fire on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time out; however, that run was over a mile and a half of a furlong, and he clearly didn’t stay on that occasion. He had a string of seconds to his name before that effort within maiden and novice company, and should go close here, dropped back down to six.
4.30: REVOIR – 13/8 (Win) (NB)
Smart filly, who has run well in two Listed contests this term, either side of being outclassed in the Oaks at Epsom behind Minnie Hauk. She was narrowly denied at Newbury back in May at this level, by a head, and a repeat of that run could be enough to see her take this. She’s top-rated and should make her presence felt for an in-form trainer.
5.00: FILLYFUDGE – 5/1 (Each-Way)
Twelve-length winner over hurdles on her penultimate outing, and ran well on her latest outing on the flat at Yarmouth back in May. She’ll contest this off a pound higher than her last winning mark, with five pounds coming off that mark via Jack Dace. Has every chance of going well in the low-grade affair.
