Newmarket Craven Meeting Preview & Cheltenham April Meeting Preview.

1.30 Cheltenham: Citipost Novices’ Hurdle: My first punt of the day comes from Cheltenham and the 1.30 which is a novice hurdle over two miles and four and a half furlongs. This looks to be all about Peaky Boy for me for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. He won here impressively on New Year’s Day and has been off the track since, I think he could well be useful, and with Seven Barrows back among the winners he’s got a great chance. Peaky Boy – 6/4 (Win) (NB)

2.25 Newmarket: bet365 Feilden Stakes: I move over to Newmarket for my second selection of the afternoon which comes in the Listed Fielden Stakes over a mile and a furlong. I’m with the French raider Narkez here for Andre Fabre and Mickael Barzalona. He’s looked very impressive on his last two outings when winning a couple of conditions events by a combined total of twelve lengths. He’s likely up to this sort of level and potentially higher, and I think he’ll go very close in this. Narkez – 10/3 (Win)

2.40 Cheltenham: Matt Hampson Foundation Silver Trophy Handicap Chase: My third pick of the day comes back at Cheltenham and within a Grade 2 handicap chase which is ridden over two miles and four and a half furlongs. I like the chances of Sail Away in this for the team of Dan & Harry Skelton. The yard has had a fantastic time of things within valuable handicaps this season and I think they have another live chance here, he’s been given a break since finding Grade 1 company too hot at Ascot back in February, however, back within handicap company I think he can go very well. He’ll also have good ground conditions here which he’s done very well on previously. Sail Away – 9/2 (Win)

3.35 Newmarket: Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes: My fourth and final selection of the afternoon comes back at Newmarket and within the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes. It’s hard to get away from Dance Sequence here for the boys in blue of Charlie Appleby and William Buick. She was last seen when winning the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes here back in October which is very solid form. She was still green that day yet still managed to get the better of the potentially useful Skellet and I believe that she could be another good one for her powerhouse connections. Dance Sequence – 8/11 (Win) (NAP)
