Lady Aurelia breaking my heart.

Today’s betting hasn’t gone very well, I won’t lie. I went in today full of optimism after firing in the last couple of winners at Newmarket yesterday with the one Ryan Moore was on Via something and Del Harraid (that’s spelt wrong) which Pat Cosgrave rode. As well as having the French raider Spain Burg at 14/1 each way and of course Journey […]

Rockfel Stakes 2016.

Pretty biased and somewhat obvious prediction coming up, but do I care? Not particularly no. I have absolutely loved watching Frankel’s career at stud develop into a massive success this season and I can’t wait for this year’s Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket to be another chapter in it when Fair Eva bounces back to winning ways in tremendous fashion. It […]

Mehmas Vs Blue Point. Round 2.

After the weekend just gone that saw my 16/1 ante post bet on Brando win in the Ayr Gold Cup I can not wait to get stuck into this mighty affair next Saturday. Potentially the last time i’ll get to see my good old friend Mehmas in action in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket against a horse he infamously beat […]

Friday’s fancies

Two selections for you today: Ayr – Best bet of the day at the Scottish meeting for me is Impulsive American in the 4.50. One of my favourites over the sticks and really hasn’t looked back since having blinkers fitted. Jim Crowley on board too which is far from a bad thing at this present time. The David Pipe […]

So Mi Dar returns!

Tasty clash at Yarmouth tomorrow as highly rated John Gosden filly So Mi Dar returns with her main rival being last years Juddmonte International winner Arabian Queen. Arabian Queen was the cause of possibly one of my most painful afternoons when I had what only could be described as a ‘wedge’ on the then unbeaten Golden Horn until Silvestre De Sousa […]

Brando – Ayr Gold Cup 2016

Currently trading at around 16/1 in most ante post markets I think Brando has got a great each way chance in the Ayr Gold Cup. Kevin Ryan thinks alot of this horse and he has only been out of the top two once this season where he wasn’t disgraced in finishing 9th out of 20 at 20/1 in the Nunthorpe […]

An evening of All Weather racing.

It probably leaves quite a few questions hanging over my current existence that i’m spending a Monday evening by one’s self in merely my Star Wars boxers and a Motherwell shirt from the 2010-2011 season with only a Microwave Lasagne for company and betting on horses that haven’t won a race since 2014, but that’s exactly the predicament I find myself in this evening with many bets placed for a rollercoaster of a night in store at Wolverhampton Racecourse! We start off proceedings with a hopeful at best each way punt on a Chris Dwyer maiden Precious Plum ridden by champion jockey Silvestre De Sousa. After a bit of a barging round the back straight they seemed to be travelling […]

Flat horses of the season.

It seems crazy that the flat season is drawing to a close again and we’ll soon be into the jumps campaign again. It’s been quite a strange flat campaign this season as not only has it flashed by there hasn’t really been any superstars like past campaigns where we had the likes of Sea The Stars, Frankel and even most […]

Ryan Moore.

Following the 1/7 defeat of Order Of St George at the Curragh to 10/1 shot Wicklow Brave in the Irish Leger Stakes are there some serious questions hanging over Ryan Moore’s head? I personally think so. This isn’t a one off, as this season Moore has raised eyebrows with some questionable rides on high class O’Brien horses. On several occasions it […]

The 2016 St Leger.

This years St Leger Festival was concluded on Saturday with Harbour Law winning the showpiece event under George Baker at 22/1, in what turned out to be quite a controversial race. Hot favourite Idaho was sent off at 4/6 and seemed to be travelling alright throughout the race despite sweating, this was until jockey Seamie Heffernan was unseated in the […]
