Tuesday Preview. Newcastle. (23/10/2018)
Tuesday 23rd October 2018
Newcastle – (3.40) (Class 2) (Handicap) (6f)
The All Weather meeting up at Newcastle looks to have a decent level of quality this Tuesday and the 3.40 which is a Class 2 Handicap contested over six furlongs is where i’m going to head for the day’s Preview. A very competitive affair which see’s Swissterious (15/8) head affairs for Karl Burke who comes here needing to bounce back following a poor run in Listed company the last day at Redcar. Should he do that though and rediscover the form of the Doncaster effort on his penultimate start as well as handle the Tapeta he’s clearly a big player. Implicit (7/2) for James Tate takes her place next in the market who’s certainly an interesting contender for a trainer that does very well on this surface. She’s bred to suit this trip and she should also appreciate the tapeta. A live contender here and the mount of David Allan.
Princes De Sables (5/1) comes here for Kevin Ryan off the back of four straight victories and is at a lofty level at the weights as a consequence however she does keep finding a way to win and it wouldn’t be a surprise should she go in again here with Shane Gray on board. Cosmic Law (5/1) has been plying his trade within pattern company for the majority of the season and the ease in Grade here should certainly help him. The Richard Fahey charge is already a Listed winner and comes here off the back of a fine third placed effort at York the last day. The Marco Botti trained Fares Kodiac (8/1) is one of the most unexposed in the field and followed up his debut win with a third placed effort at Doncaster in Class 2 company. This possibly requires another step up but there’s every chance he’s got the capability of just that in his locker. The six furlong trip should suit the likes of Concierge (10/1) for George Scott, he looks slightly up against it here but is a decent performer on his day and has an eye catching jockey booking of Oisin Murphy on board. Moojim (20/1) for Byran Smart and Brandy Spirit (40/1) of Michael Easterby conclude the field.
🥇1st: Cosmic Law (11/2)
🥈2nd: Fares Kodiac (8/1)
🥉3rd: Implicit (7/2)
COSMIC LAW (11/2) (E/W)
(Not a massive price for today’s Value Pick however on form Cosmic Law should have a fantastic chance here having competed in mostly pattern company this term. He’s put in solid efforts on some occasions in said events and he should go well here.)
