The attention for Wednesday’s article has turned back to my one true love which most  of you know by now is the Flat, well kind of, as we have to make do with the All Weather in the current climate. A man that was no stranger to success throughout this year’s flat season was Charlie Appleby, as he he made his presence felt all over the globe winning Melbourne Cups, Breeders Cup races, Top European Group races and chucked in the Derby as well for good measure. He’s certainly going to be at the top of the Godolphin Christmas Card list this year and he’s got an interesting runner for them on Wednesday in the 1.10 at Lingfield.

This horse comes in the form of Swiss Knight. Now I doubt he will reach the heights of some of the accolades stated above but he looked a decent enough sort when winning on his second outing at Haydock back in the summer. This was however before an infamous flop when he finished dead last at odds of 1/5 at that same track. He then however bounced back from that on his latest outing with a close up second placed effort at Newmarket in what was a decent handicap on the July Course. I certainly think he’ll have a part to play in decent level handicaps in the future. His more immediate future looks to potentially be this Winter/Spring’s All Weather Championships as his dam was 2-2 on this particular surface. This is a hot little race for a Wednesday afternoon on the All Weather with Keyser Soze and Areen Heart both looking chief threats as both are decent handicappers on their day. An intriguing affair of which the Godolphin charge looks to hold a solid chance under the very solid Jason Watson.

Hawridge should be going for Glory

“Hawridge Glory ran a fine race the last day over track and trip and returns to Lingfield in the 2.40 in what should be another solid effort off just a pound higher with Jason Watson on board.”
