Midweek Flat Fancies. (14/06/2018)

Thursday 14th June 2018

A solid day of action on the level for a Thursday and some top drawer performers out such as Sea Of Class who’s set to run at Newbury.

I’ve got a few fancies up and down the country and across the sea in Ireland so here are some views from Nottingham, Haydock, Yarmouth and Leopardstown…

1.40 – Finoah (5/2) (Jockey: R Kingscote – Trainer: T Dascombe)

(Two solid runs in defeat since heavy ground flop at Leicester in April, sets the standard here and should put ina bold showing.)

2.20 – Imperial Choice (5/1) (E/W) (Jockey: M L W Bell – Trainer: J P Spencer)

(Well bred filly in what looks a fairly weak contest, will more than likely come on for the run but could still put in a decent effort here.)

2.30 – Swiss Air (5/1) (E/W) (Jockey: W J Haggas – Trainer: D Muscutt)

(Related to several high class winners on represents a top yard that have a great record in these contests, the Godolphin representative Assembly Of Truth will likely be tough to beat but i’d just side with this one at the prices, could progress into a smart type.)

4.10 – Glencadam Master (2/1) (Jockey: L Dettori – Trainer: J H M Gosden)

(Fairly disappointing in first couple of outings this term in what were decent handicaps, returned to form the last day at Doncaster with a solid second to a progressive sort, arrives here on the same mark and if handling the surface could well put in another bold showing. Frankie Dettori on board.)

7.25 – Dombra (5/1) (E/W) (Jockey: L Steward – Trainer: H Palmer)

(Very well bred Frankel colt and represents a trainer that has a very good record with his two year olds around here, market could well speak volumes but could potentially be a smart type in the future.)

7.55 – Escobar (9/4) (Jockey: D Tudhope – Trainer: D O’Meara)

(Didn’t progress as a lot hoped when with Hugo Palmer but took a step back in the right direction when a solid third at Doncaster the last day on his second start for this yard, trainer won this particular contest last year and could go close again here if this one continues progression from the last run. Red Tea is one to look out for at a bigger price.)

6.30 – Tough Spirit (8/1) (E/W) (Jockey: C T Keane – Trainer: J P Murtagh)

(Ran a promising race on debut when staying on to finish sixth, also met trouble in running that day and if getting a clearer run here could progress and finish a lot closer.)

7.05 – True Valour (9/4) (Jockey: C D Hayes – Trainer: J P Murtagh)

(St Patrick’s Day will likely be a popular warm order in this contest but I don’t mind taking him on with True Valour. He’s ran two solid runs in defeat in Group 3 company this season and that’s a fair standard here, he’s likely to give his running again and give this former Bob Baffert, Ballydoyle hotpot something to think about.)

NAP: Glencadam Master (4.10 – Yarmouth)

NB: Finoah (1.40 – Nottingham)
