Midweek Flat Fancies. (08/06/2018)

Friday 8th June 2018

Lot’s of Flat Racing to get stuck into today with several meetings across the UK & Ireland and i’ve managed to narrow down a few picks that I think have got a decent chance at an array of prices.

Here are my views on some of the day’s action on the level….

Carlisle

1.30 – Yousini (13/8) (Jockey: T Eaves – Trainer: K A Ryan)

(Inexperience showed the last day as he was very green but still managed to win nicely, likely to be a lot more tuned up now which makes him a big player.)

Brighton

4.40 – Spirit Of Sarwan (13/2) (E/W) (Jockey: H Doyle – Trainer: Miss J Feilden)

(Was unlucky the last day when meeting trouble and finishing 3rd, on the same mark and could well put in another bold showing.)

Goodwood

7.05 – Arthur McBride (14/1) (E/W) (Jockey: L P Keniry – Trainer: N A Twiston Davies)

(Below par the last few times but has solid form around here, if recapturing the form of any of those runs he could well out run his odds here.)

Haydock

8.00 – Sacred Path (8/11) (Jockey: R Havlin – Trainer: J H M Gosden)

(Ran on late in the day the last day at Goodwood and will likely come on a lot from that, got a few fancy entries and will likely take the world of beating here.)

8.35 – The Last Emperor (15/8) (Jockey: A Atzeni – Trainer: R Varian)

(Last seen when fifth in a Listed contest at Salisbury last August. Had a wind op since then and this trip could be right up his street. Should go close here.)

Curragh

5.25 – Cape Of Good Hope (5/4) (Jockey: D O’Brien – Trainer: A P O’Brien)

(Ran seventh the last day under Ryan Moore alongside other stablemates, as many of the yards do he’ll likely come on massively from that, entered in a few decent contests he should give a bold showing here.)

7.45 Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3) (6f)

I don’t normally approach contests with less than eight runners from an each way angle but i’m making an exception here with this selection.

Obviously One Master is likely going to be tough to beat for William Haggas but I like the chances of GOLDEN SPELL for Johnny Murtagh. She’s been running well in Listed contests and I think there’s still a bit more to come from her. Shane Foley takes the ride and I believe she’s the value in the race at a general 6/1.

Golden Spell (6/1) (E/W) (Jockey: S Foley – Trainer: J P Murtagh)
