Wednesday 2nd May 2018 – Ascot
A fantastic midweek card at Ascot to get stuck into as some top drawer flat action takes centre stage.
There’s a couple of Group 3’s and a Listed Contest on offer and here’s my full card preview..
2.00 – The Irish Rover (4/7) (Jockey: R L Moore – Trainer: A P O’Brien)
(Third on debut at Dundalk and looks a typical one to progress for powerful connections and his price reflects this.)
2.35 – Dathana (4/9) (Jockey: W Buick – Trainer: C Appleby)
(Again is no price but firmly sets the standard. Won well the last day on reappearance.)
3.10 – Torcedor (5/2) (Jockey: C O’Donoghue – Trainer: Mrs J Harrington)
(Progressed into a smart performer last term. Didn’t give his true running at Meydan and likely to be a lot more tuned up now)
3.45 – Eirene (11/2) (E/W) (Jockey: R Winston – Trainer: D Ivory)
(An impressive reappearance the last day in the Nell Gwyn when finishing 3rd. Could well build on that here)
4.20 – Victory Bond (9/4) (Jockey: R L Moore – Trainer: W J Haggas)
(Been performing very well on the All Weather and won the Easter Classic nicely the last day. Ryan Moore on board here and could well get involved again back down to 1m.)
4.55 – Abareeq (15/2) (E/W) (Jockey: O Stammers (7) – Trainer: M Johnston)
(Been running well on the All Weather and strikes some appeal here off a handy mark.)
