Meydan Preview & Selections. (22/02/2018)

Thursday 22nd February 2018

Meydan time again! This has absolutely become one of the highlights of my week has this year’s Carnival and my word has this week thrown up a treat. We’ve got some of the best speedsters around taking each other in the likes of Ertijaal and Blue Point as well as a whole host of other fantastic action to get stuck into. Here’s my fancies for this week…..

2.30 – Ertijaal (4/7) (Jockey: J Crowley – Trainer: A Al Rayhi)

(One of fastest horses around and made a winning reappearance the last day beating today’s rival Hit The Bid in the process who has since gone on to win. Blue Point is a very talented rival and will take the beating but I think this speedster will again be very hard to peg back.)

3.05 – Spring Offensive (16/1) (E/W) (Jockey: S Levey – Trainer: J Ramadhan)

(Won several times back in the UK and travelled well the last day here for a lot of the race. Drop down in trip should suit and got a decent draw.)

3.40 – Kimbear (4/6) (Jockey: P J Dobbs – Trainer: D Watson)

(Likely to of bumped into a potential good one in Boynton the last day here. Was still well clear of the rest in second and should go very close once again here.)

4.15 – Leshlaa (7/4) (Jockey: P Cosgrave – Trainer: S bin Suroor)

(Looked as good as ever the last day here when winning over course and distance. Likely to build on that and go close again here.)

4.50 – Championship (13/2) (E/W) (Jockey: S De Sousa – Trainer: A Bin Harmash)

(Was found to be bleeding the last day on the back of a below par run. Likely to be a lot closer today if fully recovered.)

5.25 – Drafted (9/4) (Jockey: P J Dobbs – Trainer: D Watson)

(Won two handicaps this season here and step up in trip look sure to suit here. Will need to progress a bit to win this but may well.)

6.00 – Eynhallow (5/2) (Jockey: B Doyle – Trainer: C Appleby)

(Pulled very hard the last day here and then met trouble in running in the straight, still ran on well to finish fourth. Looks to have a big engine on him and if settling better here should be a big player.)
