Long Walk Hurdle (Class 1) (Grade 1) (3m 97y)
As we make our way into an extremely busy Christmas period the first of my many previews comes in the form of the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot now named after the great Reve De Sivola who made this race his own.
It’s a very decent competitive renewal which see’s some real proven top stayers and and up and coming ones take each other on. L’ami Serge and Lil Rockerfeller take each other on again following there dual here last month in which the latter came out on top lowering the colours of Defi Du Seil in the process. It goes without saying that these two should once again be involved in the business end of things.
I was at Haydock to witness Sam Spinner bolt up in a real impressive display the last day which he could well build on and Thomas Campbell comes here on the back of a couple of impressive displays at Cheltenham.
I’m once again going to side with my old friend in UNOWHATIMEANHARRY here though to bounce back from his defeat at Newbury. It was disappointing that he couldn’t get past Beer Goggles that day despite being race fit however the soft ground forecast will be welcomed news and I think he’s got more than enough about him to give yet another bold showing and win this race for a second year in a row. Thomas Campbell looks to be the each way bet of the race.
