Newmarket Sun Chariot Stakes Preview (07/10/2017)

Sun Chariot Stakes 1m (Group 1)

The Sun Chariot is the feature contest of the weekend over at Newmarket and as expected it’s thrown up a really competitive renewal. There’s a whole host of classy performers at the head of the market including John Gosden’s Persuasive, Group 1 winner Roly Poly for Aiden O’Brien and Royal Ascot winner Qemah so it certainly looks to be a hot contest.

However, there’s a couple outside that group of big names that I quite like the look of here as each way prospects and i’ll start off with the one with the shorter odds and that’s Usherette for the master French trainer Andre Fabre. She hasn’t quite lived up to expectations this season following her winning machine campaign last year however she got her head back in front in a Listed contest last time out and they may well of given her the confident boost she may well of really needed. I still think she has a lot of class about her and write Fabre’s horses off at your own peril. At best priced 8/1 I think thats a each way great price for her.

My other each way selection is a bit out there and is the outsider of the whole field at the moment in the betting and that’s Alluringly for Aiden O’Brien. Now this is another one of them out there selections which I ask you to hear me out on. The horse has been on the go for a while now and this run will be her 10th of the season. But this isn’t unusual for an O’Brien horse, she’s raced in some hot contests this year, her best performance being 3rd behind Enable in the Oaks. She’s currently a best priced 66/1 and as she’s shown on a few occasions this year she can run very respectably in hot company and that’s a great price to chance her doing that again here.

Selections: Usherette 8/1 E/W – Alluringly 66/1 E/W
